Where do Buddy Blankies come from?
In August 2001, a new addition to our family brought about the invention of the Buddy Blankies. My daughter had grown up with a wonderful pair of bunny loveys, but they were no longer manufactured. I started on a quest to find a baby blanket lovey for my son, and soon discovered that there weren't any out there that were what I was looking for. And the baby blankets that people recommended were no longer being made. So I set out to design a baby blanket lovey that was practical for parents and irresistible for children
And so we have the Buddy Blankie baby blanket. I designed it for the child to have something to hold onto when mommy or daddy aren't around, something to snuggle with, soft and warm, to give them some love whether during naptime, or just a quick comfort fix. The Buddy Ears came about from watching my daughter lovingly wear down her stuffed bunny ears and my son gnaw on anything knotted. Little hands have lots of material to love, rub, pull and chew on. As they grow, the Buddy Ears are great for them to grasp onto to drag their Buddy around.
Buddy Blankies are pre-washed in Ivory Snow, to prevent future shrinkage and to soften up the fabrics. We use only the softest cuddle satin and the snugglest flannel with eye-appealing patterns for children. The baby blankets are then cut out, sewn together and packaged, just waiting for Somebuddy to adopt them. These come from a smoke-free environment.
